Fishing Southwest Florida from Naples to the Florida Everglades

Fly Tying Bench

Capt. Kyle Giampaoli is an expert fly tyer. He spends his entire year studying what fish eat and it is reflected in some of the most creative flies that are made. Please check out Kyle’s selection of flies for some creative patterns for tarpon, snook and redfish.

The Snook Snack is a great blind casting fly.  It has great movement through the water and and combines two very good Snook colors, white and chartreuse.  The same fly tied in Tan is very good and Black and Purple works as well for dirty water.  I would recommend tying this pattern for your next Snook adventure.

Laid Up Tarpon Fly

As most of you know the Back-country waters of the everglades consists of fishing for laid up Tarpon.  These high floating fish are often spotted with their fins out of the water resting on or near the surface.  These fish will smash a suspended or floating fly.  To create a fly that either sinks when stripped or floats one must use foam or hair to make the fly more buoyant. This fly also works very well in Black and Black/Purple.
